Lancaster University Students’ Union is at the heart of student life, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive community where every student can get involved and feel supported. From your first day on campus, you’ll have access to more than 200 clubs, societies and activities, offering plenty of ways to connect with others and get involved in university life.

Student life at Lancaster University offers countless opportunities to get involved and build your community. The Students’ Union is central to this, with over 200 societies to choose from, including a Law Society, alongside a wide range of cultural and sports groups. Joining a society is a great way to meet people, try something new and build skills outside of your studies. Whether you’re getting involved in mooting and legal discussions or simply exploring a new interest, there are plenty of ways to connect with others and settle into university life.
Alongside societies, the Students’ Union also runs a packed calendar of events throughout the year, from social activities and campus events to volunteering opportunities and student-led initiatives. It’s an easy way to get involved and make the most of your time at university.

Matt embarked on the GDL and LPC at The University of Law in Chester and then started his training contract with DLA Piper LLP, going on to qualify and practise in Corporate Restructuring. He joined the University in 2013 and has taught across many courses, specialising in corporate and commercial subjects.
